Practise makes man perfect. When a good habit is sown and nurtured properly, like a banyan tree, it grows and helps to automatically cultivate other habits too.Generally people are procrastinators. So the custom of new year resolution helps people to at least make attempts. Learn every time, master it one day when they have full dedication.
It would be good, if we think and act every day as D-day which will make us as scintillating personalities.Then why to be a procrastinator?
This title reminds me of my funny friend.At every years start, he would make new year resolution that he should not tell lies throughout that year.When the imperialistic, lord of treacherous world of Hindi enters on new year's day into the arena called classroom and casts the deadly spell of avera ka devra in the form of question "have you all done the holiday homework ?". Automatically, my friend shoots his hand high in the air and says "Yes Madam !"

Classical All Rounders
The location in a map where new ideas are born and nurtured in modern world is educational institutions. The most lively part, filled with lot of action and thriller in whole institution are the class rooms.A group of young minds interact with the experienced ones, pose questions, find solutions for it which triggers the wheel of innovation.
Above description does not suite for all institutions as it gives them a serious and studious look.Mostly it is a different world within it. Generally in earth you can find different kinds of people, say capitalists, socialists, communists and others who don't know what they are and don't care about it.Exactly the same prevails in classrooms too. Each student is different in thinking, appearance, etc..
According to me the toughest job on earth is that of a professor. he is a captain, a single person who has to control(i.e keep students awake) more than fifty ships amidst the terrible storm(loosing concentration and interest) and rough waves(lot of distractions). He is little different from original captain as he can evaluate his own performance in form of validating answer sheets of students.Every student has the extraordinary capacity to make unique mistake or write unique wrong answer for the same question.it shows their creativity.
Universal hypothesis is students in the front rows listen to each word uttered by the lecturer, the middle rows has to be forced to listen.Last few rows are like a country's borders which are usually hostile and inaccessible.But this is not what I observed in my classes.
The last few rows calls themselves as back bench boys. the name sounds as if they are rude young guns. But really they are cute little boys dreaming themselves to be Romeos and Alexanders.They are the only guys who follow the rule "Stay Awake All Time"(SAAT), since most of the times questions are targeted on them. they partially concentrate and in remaining time on opposite benches which gives them relaxation amidst the tiring schedule.(This statement is applicable to all boys irrespective of the row they sit, I hope it applies to opposite benches too).So there is always a huge demand for the last row seats like politician demand for MP seats.
Middle rows, the guys are really great geometricians and artists. Even picaso, euler & others would be amazed to see their works. We can pose these rare diagrams as questions for maths Olympiad. These shapes and figures drawn in their notes exhibit the zenith of creativity.These guys follow the rule "Mentally Absent Physically Present"(MAPP).
Now at last, the first row, amazing it is empty as an unoccupied island. Reason chalk dust, spit tings of lecturer, his/her loud voice which provides woofer effects have made it unsuitable for human inhabitation.So we move to last first few rows. Here the subjects will be normally be in sleeping state.This is the area were most lectures don't concentrate based on universal hypothesis. So guys take opportunity of the saying "Predator searches at all places for its prey but not under its nose".They also chat, sorry, discuss, better to say share their views on lattest news covering from new models of bike, cell phones, clubs, to TV shows and movies.Once in blue moon they think on projects and assignments as the deadline looms before them.
There is another kind of species available which inhabits in all rows of class. It has the unique capacity to fix its eyes on lecturer which adjusts the position as lecturer moves (like a radar )while the master is in a distant land fully under his control(in simple words day dreaming).
AT LAST, but not the least, there is a race which makes the optimum usage of class hours, they just simply sleep( i.e recharge their batteries).They remain exuberantly active after class hours and vice verse during the classes.They also provide some comedy scenes such as falling down on desks, acting as if awake which makes other viewers to laugh to their ends.
There occurs a rare phenomenon or say a cryptographic way of passing messages to each and every student using chits during lectures. These messages help in group communication.
I am sure that parliamentarians of various governments can surely learn from us on how to behave during such sessions, how to express our discontent and disinterestedness without affecting the proceedings.
Guys, Whatever role you play in the stage called class, try to make it a memorable one. Be an ALL ROUNDER.

Puppet Shows 2 Cartoons - An Era
CARTOONS AND KIDS Toady's cartoons have surely made children couch potatoes, but they have imparted moral values, common senses in them. It is the language understood only by children and those people who like to enjoy their life and also let others too to enjoy.It is a language full of colours, innocence, eagerness to learn and dream beyond scope.Yesterday it was pupet show, today's is cartoons.
In these cartoons they show lot of electronic gadgets usage which widens the horizon of thinking by children. The super powers possed by their heroes and their usage for protecting good values sows the seed of high values in young minds. But it also popularize the belief that violence alone can help to over throw injustice.
When i used to watch cartoons, i.e the ones shown in DoorDharshan my favourites were Talespin, Duck Tales, etc which were adventourous and also the characters which were naughty appealed to me most. Today i hear that Dragon Balls is a famous series which has enchanted a large number of youths.My all time favourite is Scooby Doo and his friends.
The popularity of these cartoons has lead to establishment of theme parks like DisneyLand @ USA and China, various small outlets of pizza hut, dress stores etc. These cartoon characters act as brand ambassadors too.
Whatever may be the age, how much ever we grow still there is a child left in us who always enjoys these cartoons and make us humans who alone can laugh and make others to laugh too.
So watch and let others watch!

Ring Tones
Ring tones, aim of using it is to help the owner to identify that he has received a call or message. But today's ring tones are informing the entire society along with the owner.Mostly people keep the film songs as ring tones which usually disturb the entire environment. These tones have defeated the objective of usage of cell phones. They helped in gaining the ban on usage in most places like temples, hospitals, organisation, etc. But we can't eliminate them and go for ordinary phone like tones, as in today's situation each and every person posses a cell phone and it may create chaos in deciding whose cell phone is ringing. So one solution is to keep the volume low and proper selection of tones which won't stun the entire surroundings. Its in our hands to utilise it as our servant and not as public nuisance.
Let me quote some of the funny instances with these tones
one of my friends had set the kandashasti kavasam tone for the call from home, and andakaka kondakari for call from friends. But what happened was when he was at temple along with his parents andakaka kondakari started to play which embrassed the mami in front of him in the queue. While he was with his friends naturally his parents would call and kaka kaka kadirvel kaka starts to play to the amusement and embrassment of his friends while he was watching movie with them. Atlast he decided to go with the tincan tone for both to find solace and comfort for this problem.
Another instance is regarding me. Me and my family members went for a picnic on a holiday. On the way my uncle paniced as he misplaced the cell somewhere. We didn't know what to do, but my small cousin aged five asked me to give a ring to my uncle's cell. I did and we heard the doll baje doll baje tone from my aunts bag.
So we have to make use of it as a lover who speaks only to us and not as spouse who speaks to all other than us.

Electives
Electives, i think it means options, no choices, no no alternatives, or say compulsories to be taken.
let me see the first one, OPTIONs, then it says we have the full rights, better to say full freedom(100%) to choose our subjects of interest. It seems to be the objective of the university.
Second one, CHOICEs, it itself conveys you are restricted to take or study those which can be provided to you by them. 80% freedom, with 20% veto power in others hand.
Thirdly, Alternatives, meaning try to take the best path to escape. so 50% power in your hands.
Fourth and final , COMPULSORIES to be TAKEN, 20% in your hand, i.e you have to put your signature on acceptance papers.
So, its in our conduct, behaviour and approach to gain the 100% freedom.
Cautious and calculative approach yeilds adequate results

Speed of internet
Internet is really a boon to mankind. It is the first invention turned into and supported open sourcing. It has helped man to share and collect information beyond physical boundaries. For todays youth it is a genie which will help him do his homeworks, gives ideas for projects, enables chatting and dating. What more can a guy ask for.
Technically internet means a collection of computers which are connected together(this much only i can recollect @ present), but it is a digital library cum resource identifier for a computer novice. Generally people who can be tech geeks or novice they like the speed of internet to be tremendously high, say minimum expectation is to be that of light's velocity. No one wants to wait and see the blank screen even for seconds though they have no idea about what they are doing. So, today we have gone to broadband from dial-ups, Gbps from Kbps.
It is quite natural that human expection always increases with his achievement, as his neccessity led to various inventions. These inventions seem to be simple from outside but are mind boggling for students who have to analyse it and were for the inventors. So we have started to purchase many electronic items which will improve the speed of communication, i.e internet. One thing we are forgetting at this velocity, we are neglecting the art of conversation, can you remember it, yes you are correct, why to be so suspicious about it, yes ofcourse it is speaking.
Today guyz send sms, chat even to propose or convey their messages to each other. If it goes on then soon our internet speed will be at its zenith where as our power of speaking will be inversly proportional to it.Guyz donot forget that human is the only animal which can laugh and speak in a language. hostel life
First time in life we are forced to fly outside the parental nest into the world. Here we make new friends and leastly foes who make this part of life ever green in our memory. We learn the values of sharing joy and sorrow with our friends. This also helps in lot communication between students to discuss and share information from general topics(film,sports, etc) to latest technology, subject(only on exam eve), etc.
Only problem we face is food. After getting used to delicious food prepared by mom for the past 17 years, it will be disgusting to cope with mess food. But it is also a boon in disguise, as it trains us to be prepared for the meals prepared by spouses in future(mostly incorrigble, as no one cares abt cooking as every thing is available in hotels, fast foods).
study hours, silence hours, apologies, feast, power cuts and canteen are some of the spieces added to hostel life. Most important one which adds more taste to hostel life like ajin-o-motto for food is Treat. Comming late to hostel is one of the ingridients in hostel life which usually takes the joy out of it by the punishments followed.Most irritating one is the low and restricted time for internet access. Money management is the biggest issue faced by each guy which makes him a good financial advisor at the end of the course.
Amidst the problems there always lies solution. So does in the hostel life too. It has lot of fun and experience to gain between the various hooks.

love pairs
Normally students in college , now even in school days link a girl with boy to make fun of him(i don't know abt girls). Choosing of the pair by peer group is done on basis of some event that happened which is funnier to remember. During the teasing, students unfurl their creatvity and tease the guy and produce a very colourful film beyond the imagination of any oscar winning director.They also laugh heartily which keeps the examination tension away and makes them lively.Even science has agrred that such friendly mocking, sighting girls keeps blood pressure low in certain study conducted.
If the girl is good looking and also smart the boy usually or say partly likes the mocking done by his friends linking him with her. But if she is opposite then he disagrees and tries to find a new one of his taste. Makes his friend to associate her with him by creating stories or new events to support his selection. Suppose if the girl is already linked to some other person , it leads to some small petty fights which normally ends in treat by signing a peace treaty that both will enjoy the game.This type of practise is normally offended in most institutions as they are against the discipline and decorum of organisation.

Best out going student
Normally a guy has specific skills and interest which amuses others. Each and every one attends various competitons to find these skills, sharp them up and compare with others on how to improve them. Institutions also help in such activities and honour those who outsmart the rest in various skills.
In auctual sense the best outgoing student means the one who has all the features of a student such as hunger to learn, willingness to share, team spirit, quench to achieve something in life that is ambition which will help the society.
But thats not what it is happening today. Most students are making their ambition as to get BOS, for which they loose their ethical values, try to please others who are powerful, do all mean things. It is very annoying to see students trying to act as if they have the skill or interest in which they don't even have basic knowledge.If it continues like this in future too, we will have BOS guyz who are not good actors and also students for the society.
It is high time for the society and institution to recognise the original students with ethical values and award them the BOS to encourage them and for betterment of society.

Cash or Knowledge - A Prize for competition
In today's world students normally think or tend to think the cash prize winning is their main goal in participating competitions. As a result sponsorers announce huge cash awards to attract more students. Even a national level technical symposium attracts best minds only when huge sum is printed in their posters. Money generates tendency to be miser and a looser whereas knowledge the tendency to share and gain.We have to regain the lost values, pursue the path for ultimate excellence and not get pacified with side kicks.
We have to provide proper recognition for achievers by helping them to gain more IQ and also for competitors tips to excel. Student community is like a flooded river, it needs proper bunds at correct place to reach the sea of knowledge and avoid causing a havoc.
